“Porter Wayne and Dolly Rebecca”” was originally released in March 1970 and spent 25 weeks on the US country charts, peaking at #4. It contains their gorgeous heartbreaker “Just Someone I Used To Know”, and the maudlin time capsule of a cautionary tale “Mendy Never Sleeps” where a teenager wearing hair straight and long leads inevitably to death, with a doleful monologue along the way. Watch out folks.
